Taylor Hicks at the Ridgefield Playhouse
The man who beat out Katharine McPhee and made television history when his victory on American Idol (Season 5 in 2006) was one of the most watched television programs of the decade, Taylor Hicks is coming to The Ridgefield Playhouse on Friday, April 27, at 8 PM, in his “Tour That Never Stops”. He released “Do I Make You Proud”, which debuted at # 1 on Billboard’s Hot 100, Pop 100 and Single Sales charts. Taylor was featured in People Magazine as the “Hottest Bachelor of the Year”. Special guest is the Jamie McLean Band. What a great nite last night!!! (but it was friggin' freezing out!!!) Started out with Jamie McClean Band. They were fantastic, such a wall of sound for just 3 performers! I wouldnt mind seeing them again. I heard from a fan that Hicks was stuck in traffic getting to the venue but when came time for his performance he actually looked refreshed and in elated spirits. The McClean band backed him up w a noticebly new sound, driving, relentless beat! Hicks was practically non stop for his block of time. Voice was very strong. Extended, powerful harp (super strong lungs peeps!) solos! Encore song was new! Something about a "smile"! Excited fans left their seats and rimmed the stages edge while he sang. The venue was fabulous also, small & close quarters. Got to get back to this town again, lots of shops, Victorian houses, winding, twisting roads and lots to see on foot. ;)

Just love you Taylor. Always have since we first saw you on Idol. I drove my work friends crazy during idol saying to them every week, "This guy is going to win". They all finally believed when you did. You were so deserving. I would love to see you at the Ridgefield Playhouse and I am available to attend the show if I am so lucky to win. I even saw you in the American Idol tour the season that you won American Idol. Just love you and wish you all of the best.

I would drive to CT to see you Taylor! I missed out on seeing you in Kennebunkport and Portland when you were in Maine...but given a chance to see you now...I'd drive...My son and I love your music and your style! Can't wait til the concert!
